About
Cornerstone Learning Center

Located in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, Cornerstone Daycare Center (CDCC) was founded in 1968 by Reverend Dr. Sandy F. Ray with the purposes of providing childcare needs to the Brooklyn community during the Civil Rights movement and mass migration of the African American community from the Southern States to New York City. In continuing these efforts to provide quality services while preserving the legacy and rich culture, CDCC is currently under the leadership of Dr. Ray’s Great-Granddaughter Jasmine Ray. Cornerstone Daycare Center serves children 2-5 years old, which include 3-K and Pre-k For All (UPK). Our clean and safe environment is designed to offer childhood experiences where children can play, learn, and grow. We are committed to contributing towards enabling our families to reach their personal and professional goals.

Childcare Philosophy
Hands-on
At Cornerstone Daycare Center, our method of teaching is a “hands - on” approach to learning. Children learn through their senses and experiences. We believe that early learners acquire knowledge and support for learning from active engagement in their environment and through meaningful interactions with peers and adults.
Learn and Play
Our main educational goal is to foster a desire for learning within each child and enrich his/her self-esteem. Therefore, our teachers work closely with NYC Department of Education, our children and families to ensure that each child is treated fairly and has the same opportunities as other students to learn and play.
Love of Learning
We recognize that the children’s family, culture, and community play an important role their development. Our goal is to create an environment where each child develops a greater sense of self, respect for others and lifelong love of learning.
