Our toddler Connections Curriculum based on engaging receptive care that is grounded in child development fundamentals. Connections is grounded in research on developmental expectations in accordance to the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF): Ages Birth to Five.

These expectancies are established based on the ELOF domains. The Domains are expansive areas of early learning and development from ages birth to 5 years that are essential for school and long-term success. These domains are Approaches to Learning, Social and Emotional development, Language and communication, Cognition, Perceptual, Motor, and Physical Development.

Overall, Connections builds on the foundation of families and children, development of each individual child, scaffolding and exploration of the world around our scholars.

3K for All: Exploration

The 3K Exploration’s curriculum provides teachers, children, and families opportunities to connect, discover new concepts, and learn together.

Explorations are grounded in research based on developmental expectations referencing the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF): Ages Birth to Five (ELOF), which outlines the skills, behaviors and concepts that our program cultivates with the engagement of scholars.

Explorations offer engagement that is all-inclusive, profound, and play-based across each domain: Social and Emotional development, Language and communication, Cognition, Perceptual, Motor, and Physical Development.

Explorations begin with routines and the classroom community then advance to more conceptual ideas throughout the course of the ten-month program based on topics and activities.

Overall, during the course of 10 months our scholars will engage in the exploration of topics such as the Classroom Environment, Self, and Us along with the expansion of focus topics and purposeful center engagement based on themes.

Pre-K For All: Units of Study

Pre-K for All curriculum is a sequence of interdisciplinary Units of Study. The Unit of Study supports student learning in all domains: Approaches to Learning, Social and Emotional development, Language and communication, Cognition, Perceptual, Motor, and Physical Development using developmentally appropriate practice throughout the course of the ten-month program based on each unit.

Children learning is supported in their own experiences that allows them to expand their understanding of the people and world around them with increasing complexity. Student lessons and activities are supported with the state Pre-K Learning Standards and Guiding Principles, known as the Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core (PKFCC) where children work towards “increasing awareness and competence”.

Our Scholars are engaged in investigation, language and problem-solving skills through the institution of the classroom environment, interactions with peers, use of books and other texts, integration of new vocabulary, use of purposeful play, and family engagement practices. Each units provide opportunities for content exploration and skill-building that are aligned with the NYCDOE Kindergarten Social Studies, Science Scope, and Sequence.

Overall, students will gain complex understanding on the follow: Welcome to Pre-k, My Five Senses, All About Us, Where We Live, Transportation, Light, Water, Plants, Babies and Transformation.
